On June 7, the State Drug Administration announced that at 1: 30 p. m. local time on June 7, Japan, at the first meeting of the International Technical Coordination Committee for Registration of Human Drugs (ICH)2018 held in Kobe, Japan, the State Drug Administration of China was elected as a member of the ICH Management Committee. The ICH Management Committee is the management and decision-making body of ICH. Joining the Management Committee will not only help promote the reform of my country's drug review and approval system, but also help expand the international influence of ICH rules, accelerate the realization of drug accessibility, and promote the exchange of Chinese and foreign pharmaceutical industries. It is a win-win and mutually beneficial work.
In May 2017, the former State Food and Drug Administration joined ICH as a member, which means that my country has the right to speak and participate in decision-making in the field of international drug research and development and registration technical requirements, and it is also a sign that my country's drug supervision level has been internationally recognized. It is of great significance to promote the international exchange of my country's pharmaceutical industry. After becoming a member of ICH, my country has been actively striving to join the ICH Management Committee, and has conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges and cooperation with drug regulatory agencies and industry organizations in the European Union, the United States, Japan and other countries and regions. This time, the State Food and Drug Administration obtained the membership of the ICH Management Committee and was confirmed by the ICH Management Committee and the ICH General Assembly.
